International
Agreements

In the 21st century society, facing the market globally is an unavoidable requirement.

Guaranteeing the technical and legal interoperability of electronic signatures is essential.

The dematerialization of processes is unstoppable and, therefore, the challenge is to provide legal security for electronic documents and transactions regardless of where the operators are located.

Most countries already have legislation on electronic signatures and PKI technology,

with the European Union being the world reference in this area. Most of these countries also have certificate issuers and can therefore make use of electronic signatures at the local level to provide legal security for electronic transactions. Unfortunately, however, the scope of this legal evidence is geographically limited to the legal jurisdiction in which the CA operates.

Most of these countries also have certificate issuers and can therefore make use of electronic signatures at the local level to provide legal security for electronic transactions. Unfortunately, however, the scope of this legal evidence is geographically limited to the legal jurisdiction in which the CA operates.

Generally, the paradox occurs that electronic signatures affixed to a document are only partially valid, i.e. each party in the country in which it resides.

The reality is that nowadays relations are international and electronic signatures are called upon to provide legal security to documents and transactions in which the operators are citizens of different countries and, in turn, the certificates they use are issued by officially accredited CA's in other countries.

The reality is that nowadays relations are international and electronic signatures are called upon to provide legal security to documents and transactions in which the operators are citizens of different countries and, in turn, the certificates they use are issued by officially accredited CA's in other countries.

To solve this technological and legal challenge, ANF AC has signed International Agreements with electronic certification service providers outside the EU.

Specifically, in those countries where ANF AC is not accredited, thanks to this agreement it can intervene on behalf of the accredited CA in its country of origin, for the purpose of identification tasks, and processing of electronic certificates that will be issued by the respective CA's, recognized by the competent authorities in their respective countries.
