Recognized signature


Regulation (EU) 910/2014, of the European Parliament and of the Council, Art. 25, calls it "qualified electronic signature":

"2. A qualified electronic signature will have a legal effect equivalent to that of a handwritten signature.


 3. A qualified electronic signature based on a qualified certificate issued in one Member State shall be recognized as a qualified electronic signature in all other Member States. "



There is no restriction as to the format that an electronic signature must have in order to be qualified as recognized / qualified. The basic requirements you have to have are.

• Be an advanced electronic signature.


• Use a recognized / qualified electronic certificate.


• Use a secure electronic signature creation device.
